Danielle was born and raised in Queens and attended a small, developing charter for middle school and high school. She is a Posse, Fulbright scholar and poet. She has three master’s degrees in English Education, Educational Leadership and a Master of Fines Arts. She has studied abroad in Namibia and South Africa and taught high school for a year in Indonesia. She has spent over a decade committed to Title 1 education in urban areas. She was a Teach for America fellow in the Bronx, a founder of a charter high school for students in foster care, taught English, Creative Writing and Special Education for elementary, middle and high schools and most recently came to Northside from West Oakland, California where she focused on intervention, restorative justice, teacher coaching and professional development and innovative behavior supports and programming. She believes deeply in the arts and strives to hold spaces for young people to explore, create and discover.
